The little neighbor girl came up to me and just fucking blurted out "why do you have a beard

Like I know she's a fucking kid but oh my GOD that hurt my sense of gender so much??? It's complicated, um— I want a beard, but in a "oh they're a guy" way, NOT the "wtf that's a woman with a beard" way !!!
For context, I'm AFAB but I have a condition called PCOS which causes hair growth in "manly" places (chin, legs, etc.). Because of that, I have a small beard, while the rest of me looks ... unfortunately feminine.

Yeah, kids tend to be very blunt and don't know how to filter what they say yet. Rarely do they ever mean to hurt anyone's feelings, they're just curious about the world and need to communicate to figure things out.
Hope you can find a way to relax and not let this ruin your night---being AFAB with facial hair really isn't that uncommon, even without PCOS. But I totally understand dysphoria/weird gender feelings, it sucks.
