Do you guys have advice on how to experiment with your art? I feel like my art is painfully boring, I'd like to go out of my comfort zone but everytime I try to I either don't get creative enough to have ideas, or when I want to push myself on something specific (typically colors) I don't go as far as I wanted and always go back to what I'm used to doing

Typically I love the work of Dominik Mayer, his colors, shape language and composition are eye candy. I'd love to achieve something similar someday

Looking at Dominik’s art I’d maybe suggest trying that selection tool technique where you use the freehand select tool and use the fill tool. Just focus on shapes, do some pages of character silhouettes. Maybe apply it to some of ur characters?
Suggestions, thoughts,

You take many small detours from your comfort zone over time until your comfort zone expands to create a new comfort zone and then you continue, forever exploring and experimenting.

When trying something new when making an image, maybe about two thirds of the process should be pretty familiar and comfortable, maybe about one third new and experimental.

It's cool to have someone or many that you admire and evetually you can try making a master copy of something they've done as an excercise to really see what it takes.
Using texture brushes is always a fun way to experiment, and also dont be afraid to use bold and saturated colors even when the main colors are desaturated! Play around with color combos you wouldn't normally use or expect :)
use weird textured brushes that you'd never normally use!

and look up color palettes and pick a crazy one and try to draw something with only those colors 😎

most of the time, ill just find a holographic texture, make my screen black n white and just blindly color pic from that

your values will be good and you get a bunch of weird colors in places you wouldnt think to put them and it looks awesome ✨
