How do you feel about unfollowing creators you no longer find interesting?
I think it's OK, I don't really understand why people get sad if someone unfollows them. It's not really personal, especially if it's the internet. But I do understand why it could upset someone if they're suddenly losing a lot of followersFeb 19, 2022

i’d rather people actually enjoy my content rather than have to pretend that they do because they’re worried they’ll make me feel bad

I think its alright. There have been lots of artists that over time where my tastes and theirs have drifted apart. Art is personal and if it doesn't speak to you, thats okay

as someone who’s been unfollowed many times, and also unfollowed a ton of creators i’m not interested in anymore…there’s nothing wrong with unfollowing creators who’s content doesn’t work for you anymore.
as artists we’re always learning and developing, it only makes sense our audience does the same, most people who followed me since day one unfollowed a long time ago, especially when i was still experimenting with my art style. i think what sucks though, is like you said when a lot of people unfollow at once, but even then there’s no need to take it personally

•Totally okay
Why would I follow I'm not interested in ? It's healthier for everyone included instead of staying and feeling umfortable

I unfollow people all the time, and I don't really keep such a close eye on my following that I would realize somebody unfollows me
and as people said before, I rather have less followers than hundreds that don't interact with my stuff at all

•I don’t mind it at all as I do it too!
You’re allowed to make your online experience however you want it, so if you don’t want to follow that person anymore, then do it!

•If someone isn't interested in my art or anything I post I don't want them to follow me. I'd rather lose followers than have a bunch of inactive ones
•
•I don't mind at all, i lost a lot of followers by being inactive and switching up my works the past year. If they aren't interested, it's not the end of the world lul. Stuff like this happens all the time in all media (:

I think people take it more personally if someone they were friends with or someone who’s art you liked back unfollows you. Like tbh my tastes change all the time and so do other peoples so I can’t be mad if someone doesn’t like what I do anymore, but I gotta admit it hurts if it was someone I liked who unfollowed me
•
•People change along with their tastes, I don't think it's a big deal if someone stops liking my art :/
If I do it it's because I'm really just filtering my following and if it's something I no longer have an interest in then I'll unfollow

•I agree completely. People's preference change, so when you lose a follower it's most likely not personal.
