Ah, the Horror
Yep, something a tad different from me. Christmas is coming and my step father is a huge horror fan - I am not. I am also not human fan. Or soul art/games fan. He is all that. But he also requested a piece like that some months ago and eh... i tried my best. I have no idea and no sense for such art, ever since I am highly not interested in it - if it would be maybe an animal that could link me to it, but he specifically wanted a human. So I looked for refs and once I found something that didn't seem to be too complex I just.... heavily reffed it, the anatomy. I tried to change things, but I rather cut things off of this one, because I was just like head empty. No thoughts. I hate to rely on my refs this much, but sometimes it happens, when I am forced in a situation that I highly do not enjoy. Why I am uploading it still? Well, just to show sometimes things are more than not ideal. It happens. I hate it. Also, this is a gift, I am not selling this one and I am sure as hell I won't draw human-based monsters in the future. As for animals, hmmm, why not? I can see why soul art is so eye catching for others, they do have a mood - that I heavily miss here, freaking hate how empty this one is, but ever since I do feel disconnected of the whole fandom, I simply couldn't put myself in this one - but maybe I can turn one or two OCs of mine something creepier.I am so on the fence about drawing for the family as a gift, because they know I can draw, therefore they have requests and things like this happens. I don't enjoy making them, it feels like a chore that I have to do, the final outcome is not the best either, but if I don't draw the things the gifted enjoys, but for example draw them an animal skull piece that I enjoy but they don't, then why I would even give them as a gift? The gift is about the gifted, not about the gift giver.Nov 22, 2024

Woah!! Even if the subject matter is not up to your liking, I love how you did it! The anatomy is certainly on point. I can only describe it as fleshy and juicy XD Like I can feel the softness of the skin. Reminds me tbh of that case where guys jaw fell off from using radioactive product.

This came out rlly great! especially considering you say your heart wasn’t really into the subject matter. it has a great horror feel to it, also a bit tragic and haunting which makes me think of the soul’s games for sure.
i relate to not being a big horror fan, but sometimes spooky things are a great artistic challenge.
