Does anyone else have a really hard time naming characters or just things in general
It’s so funny because my brain spontaneously generates 89 character designs a minute but when it’s time to name them. I lack that ability. Haven’t unlocked naming ability yet.
It’s so silly when I remember I have characters that are at least 5 years old and a lot are still nameless??
Staring at the paper like yeah I drew you every day for a year but what the hell is your nameOct 20, 2023

Yup. Sometimes I look up names for my characters, cause when I think of name for characters, sometimes I don't like the name I think of or I think it doesn't fit them very well. Or whatever pops up in my head I'll just use it.

•Whenever I encounter (or invent) a cool name, I add it to a list in my notes, and when I need a name for a character I look there first. To be honest, most of the time the names on there don't fit the specific character at hand tho :') I still have one oc who is supposed to be one of the main characters in a story I want to write, and she used to have a name but I realised with time I didn't like it that much for her so now she is sorta nameless again

•lol yes. It’s so bad. I have a full-scale worldbuilding project and basically nothing has names. I mean, I COULD name them whatever nonsense or an irl name, but I want their names to make sense in-universe

•Can I name on the spot? Yes. Do I regret it later when a better name surfaces? Yes. Will the cycle ever break? Definitely not

Got a few I still need to name. But cramming fitting syllables together has done wonders. One of my favorites is my sheep dragon named Linvill, because it sounds like linen, and like the reverse of a villain.

naming is a struggle
