I'm so grateful to everyone who left kind words on my original attempt, and also a special shout out to @/ariakey for giving me helpful constructive criticism that really motivated me to give the piece another try! I always get so stuck trying to figure out where I went wrong on a piece, and then usually I just abandon it, but this time I was able to actually start over and get somewhere :')
I redid the planet entirely, and moved the sun away from her head, and I dropped the hair framing the image. I did like the original framing but it was kind of awkward imo.
There's still flaws here absolutely, but all in all I'm so much more proud of how this turned out and for once it actually feels like a finished drawing. Here's the original for those curious: https://www.artfol.co/a/Gpx3cgp

Anyway, the rough idea here is that Soline is a sun goddess and she's the mother of Solrose, the planet in which she's hugging, and subsequently all life on said planet (but of course no one remembers that anymore). Idk if Solrose will have a humanised iteration....... I'm sure being an orb is cool.Apr 26, 2025

While I like the old piece, this is certainly a huge improvement! And I love to see the start of this world and see this is taking place in a whole different planet.
