Doing this lore challenge from Instagram (post link at end)
Part 2 (days 8-14)
Day 8: an animal - Masterkey has loads of alien life, 98% of which I haven't bothered to actually name--due to most of it being background stuff or so late in the plot that i've set naming aside for now...the only one with a name is the eslr. I've talked pretty deeply about the eslr here though (see my Masterkey post collection) so I should talk about something else...there's a giant tarantula native to Torvus (though its been introduced to other planets...not Earth tho lol). This spider is the size of a Volkswagen Beetle and spins silk with the strength of steel. It's also a good source of protein. Their bristles make good hairbrushes and darts. Some people raise them like cattle. They are typically docile.
Day 9: mode of transportation - hey let's talk about that tarantula again! People ride them and use them as beasts of burden sometimes. They are faster than you'd think. Also they can spit their venom. And crawl over traffic jams and over buildings. Everyone deserves their own spider-cow-horse.
Day 10: clothing - the Torvan Rebels wear garments of black with white contrast accents. (I really should be drawing stuff for this...) Sicarius's is a long form-fitting jacket with a high collar and slits that form coattails. The sleeves are designed to detach so he can easily reveal his arm tattoos for ID/"open carry" (more on that later maybe. Or if you ask, lol.)
Day 11: what do they light their homes with? Eslr hosts have electricity but it's not uncommon to see homes lit with bioluminescent fungi and phosphorescent rocks. These mfs have irl fairy lights.
Day 12: A food - ready to hear about the tarantula again?? I really should name that thing. Anyway their flesh is edible, comparable to shrimp. Mmmmm.
Day 13: historical event or fact: there is a human-made jet on Torvus that has been there for over 300 Earth years.
Day 14: an object - Sicarius's space boots. They're made of a titanium alloy and have technology that quiets his footsteps. I'm also toying with a burst propulsion system similar to Samus's Space Jump boots, to facilitate movement in combat. He is not going to fly like Iron Man though, lol
