Peryton (reupload)(I had to reupload because for some reason the version of my drawing that I saved was really weird)
My second mythical creature: a Peryton!
The peryton was introduced in Jorge Borges' "Book of Imaginary Beings" which supposedly used lost medieval manuscripts as a source.
They are said to be part stag, part bird. I took my own liberty in a design by adding cute spots.
Perytons are said to have lived in Atlantis until an earthquake hit and the winged stags escaped by flying away. Parytons cast a shadow of a person until they kill one in their lifetime, afterwards they cast their own shadows.
That's all I can really find on them. The way it was written confused me quite a bit, so it could always be wrong.
