Backstory: when loki's brother trogi killed angrboda he separated loki from his children fenrir being the eldest and the strongest broke out of his grasp and sunk his fangs into trogi's leg so because trogi got bit by fenrir he realized how powerful fenrir was and chained him to the tallest mountain in asgard and masked it with a cloaking spell where loki could never find it
