#04 - The Emperor || Evayon (Emotion, Sentience)

Hoooo. I have some conflicting feelings on this one. One second I look at it and love it, another I hate it. But either way, it's done! The Emperor is the leading masculine power in the tarot. Indicative of power, passion, and energy for life, I think Lord Evayon is a good fit.
He's the second god of the first tier of the pantheon, too, which does make him the "top" male god, I guess (alongside Lord Death).
Much like Luanne (The Empress), the card depicts his death and subsequent ascension as a god. I didn't mean to make them parallels, but I enjoy it!
As the story goes, in the early universe Evayon lived in, he resided in a cruel and unfair society. The cogs here are because he was an engineer; he liked to build and fix things. And after witnessing the cold behaviour those around him treated each other with, the suffering they put themselves through, he wanted to fix that, too: so he gave up his heart for them. In the act, he killed himself but gave the universe the capacity for deeper empathy, and in doing so rose as a god.
Fun fact, Lord Evayon the God has no memory of this. Some gods retain their mortal memory upon death, and some don't! Most don't even have to die to become gods! He's kinda unlucky in that regard, actually...
This mythos is the supposed reason why my OC Shirley's race (her particular subrace of Succubus) all have a heart shaped birthmark on their chest: an echo of the cavity in Lord Evayon's chest.Apr 28, 2023
