Hi everyone, is art your full time job or something you do on the side? And if it’s something you do on the side do it have any plans to make this your career?
For me as of right now art is something I do on the side as I’m not able to make it a career yet however I am going to start my fine arts degree in September so I am hoping after that it’ll become my career

•something I do on the side! I don’t have any plans to make it into my career, I’ve never taken art in school and I’m planning for a science-related/medical career, actually, which is funny cause I think it’s super different!

•I'm studying arthistory atm, but I hope that I can pursue an artschool after that! Currently I'm working as an illustrator for a children's book. It's super exciting and a little scary because I have never actually done this before aaa

I'm still a student so I dont have a job at all, but I plan to keep art as a hobby only. I know from experience that when I HAVE to do something and have to be good at it, I lose interest in it. That's why I quit playing piano too. I don't want to lose my love for drawing, so I will get a job and maybe gain a little extra money with commissions or stuff like charms and pins

I am 21 and studying art history in hopes to get a job in the arts that is stable and makes ok money (..but it's kinda boring LOL) ideally my current dreams are to just drop everything and become a floral designer, I have no experience in that but it sounds like such a fun job, but the fear of not knowing where to start tends to hold me back

I don't make money from my art right now, but it's something I'm working towards. We'll see how it goes come summer when I'm officially out of school

•Full time! I dropped everything for art a few years ago, and the pandemic really helped me find an audience and start making more money.

•I work as a media designer and illustration/animation is part of my job! However, creating personal art on the side feels totally different from client work. So it's still a relaxing hobby for me

•I went to college for a fine arts degree in graphic design. Do I work at a graphic design company? No, I work at a university as a department chair assistant. Am I using the skills I learned from my graphic degree? Yes.

Hobby/side I have a full time job, my art never picked up enough interest for me to make a living from it so now it's just to get money for myself to spend on art haha.

•On the side! I studied games are and realized it wasn't for me. Working in finance now and I take commissions and sell merch occasionally to make some extra pocket money to treat myself :)
