


Chrome Yellow
Made from lead chromate, this pigment game into popularity during the 19th century. The color is also called "Cub Yellow" or "Lock Haven Yellow," as it was used to color Piper planes manufactured in Lock Haven, Pennsylvania. Aside from aviation, this color is commonly seen on school buses. As for the art world, this pigment was used for Van Gogh's Sunflowers. Over time, the pigment darkens into a brown-like color, as observer's can see in Van Gogh's pieces.
