Concept stuff
Well technically a revamp/adaptation design thing; the idea of making an old short story into a comic struck me like two weeks ago and i actually did something with it (i’ll try and make some proper reference sheets for them later)but I just couldn’t draw a decent face that day.. especially the girl looks traumatised in the head shot (wich she in fact is but that’s besides the point) I like the hoodie, that’s it..
So tried to make a design for these characters, Johanna and Erik, that has like no description in the original story whatsoever– except that they have some scars etc. from an accident ,but the character descriptions were near non-existent :P but it takes place in 2012 so at least tried to design their outfits and hairstyles accordingly
Anyway, I wrote this short story for school (it was actually my norwegian exam..) twelve? years ago, but in 2020 i found a bunch of my old school work and started doing a bit of a rewrite of this one, I just changed the language basically bc i originally wrote it in Nynorsk but my "main language" is Bokmål – these are two written forms of Norwegian btw. So just for fun i rewrote it to be in the norwegian I use, and edited/omitted a few sentences too, but then i started writing some AU type of stuff for it as well, thsi was still in 2020 btw, but over the past few years this story has like been in the back of my head and i would occasionally reread/edit/continue it and recently, two weeks ago, I wrote even more continuity paragraphs for the "alternate" version. Technically more of an alternate timeline than universe, and the og story has a bit of timetravel/changing realities esque thing in it or rather a time-loop? so just further built on what would happen next, it was just too tempting to continue even if i think it works as a short story (which i’ve always struggled to write, and every single teacher told me to write less pages/shorter stories bc i would write like 6 pages when the assignment said 2-4
) this is the one of the rare times i find an old story and think it has potential, or it has more parts i’m proud of than cringe from :’)) but ofc there’s some real bad stuff in it as well– hence the editing/omitting some sentences in the rewrite,, like my writing style has definitely changed too, ofc it has i was like 15 when i originally wrote it, it’s even written in 1st person wich I HATE xD
Soo… i’m now playing around with this idea, i actually even rewrote some of the newer AU paragraphs into English but when i started making comic concept pages (of one of the original scenes not the newly written stuff even tho that’s what made me want to see it as a comic) i ended up doing the dialogue in norwegian after all but if i’m gonna run with this more and actually make a comic and post it i might do it in english instead – for now just a concept not "serious" wip , i do have way too many stories i’m working on already
but it’s so fun to play with new ideas like this,,procrastinating to work on my actual current projects (wich is what i’ve done writing all the new continuation AU things, that was procrastinating writing my actual stories in works too…)But this feels like something i can use for a "test run" before making more serious comic stuff? Eventually i do wanna make graphic novels/comics for some of my ocs’ stories, but i have never actually done something like that, i only write novels, so want to practice first with something else and this is already written and short (originally) so why not??

1st persons often gets really intense xD but sometimes that's just what you need and it works out:D and projects like this might be beneficial to the bigger ones:) This looks like a cute duo ᐠ( ᐛ )ᐟ
