Everything here looks wrong but I finished it. So I started this sketch back in the end of January, and didn’t continue until the start of March, a week ago, just havent gotten around to post it. I had already redrawn his face on the sticky note but knew it looked too big but went ahead and glued it on anyway but it was all still sketch and i hadn’t figured out the background properly and then i kinda ended up winging it,, he was supposed to sit on the floor at first but drew the bed kinda too low so he ended up sitting on the edge i thought but turns out that also looks wrong (his bed is one of those built into the wall btw) as for what he’s writing on, I tried to make it supported up on other books bc i wanted his legs to show and scrapped the idea of a small table but everything perspictive looks off.. I like parts of this but it looks so wonky in most places both petspective and anatomy is weird and that’s also why i left thesketch for so long? But i also just didn’t want to redraw stuff more than i already had (back in january) so i just went in with lineart and stuff when i got back to it. Ended up having to fix his hand as well and actually sketched out two different poses on the sticky note but i just kept going without redrawing because fixing stuff was such a chore
also in the middle of the process I thought about how I miss the critique function here, I was tempted to post some slightly different versions of the sketch before i went in with fineliner
Didnt really plan on doing grey just thought i want to colour it and the page i purposefully drew it on was so i could use markers if i wanted to (not having to worry about the other side of the page if they bled through) but then i thought it wpuld kinda crash with the sticky note being lime green so ended up just using grey to add some shadows and stuff, I kinda like how it looks but also jsut wish i did the background differently or planned it better – did a lot of the stuff here on a whim Also the pose itself was so hard to find references for ?? Like how i wanted him to lean forward over the guitar so he could write stuff down; it was so hard to find anythibg actually still havent found any pose like that, every guitar reference have the arm bent differently, and while I have an ukulele its size is wrong to make a proper ref pic with myself but i tried
This is the last page in this sketchbook actually but still some unfinished ones before it. Also I haven’t used it in so long as i’ve mostly used my dotted one AND didn’t draw that much last year
