How to do photography/filming when your surrounding look like crap?
I sometimes take pictures for love ones but they don't look nice and i felt bad, so i want to improve. Unfortunately the landscape around me doesn't look great, which makes me feel frustrated and uninspired because nothing fit my vision and I can't really adjust things to my liking like when i do digital drawing (same goes for filming).
Also the compositions i learnt from drawing don't seems to help at all. Maybe compositions for drawing can't be applied for photography/filming ?
For equipment i only have my Samsung smartphone and i'm sticking with it.May 5, 2024

I'm with @azerttyo here: do close ups, embrace the ugliness, and make compositions - and perhaps play with things like monochrome, night-time pictures, and colour filters or different lenses?

Exaggerate, make it look bigger, bolder and uglier, fit a certain kind of aesthetic, experiment
Alternatively, take tiny pictures. Ants, leaves, clover, rocks and etc. Get as close to the ground as you can. Put your phone in the foliage to snap a funny branch. Make compositions in your backyard/take them to the park and photograph them there
