Evolution of Painting
Every year I check on my painting knowledge and usually Finn is my lab rat for it. This is a nice tradition by now - and even though I am not practising traditional painting, I still try to build practice work into my personal art. Painting is definitely challenging for me - confusing, first and foremost and usually I don't have the patience for it sadly - even though I'd love to paint like a pro.This piece was kinda of a struggle, because I was in a fool mod today (as well), whatever I sketched, it wasn't good enough, my forms felt wonky and I hated every version I worked on. I picked this one, bc this was the most acceptable sketch, then I just went for it. The nose is still outrageously horrible, idk what is it with muzzles I cannot really catch, but ugh, disgusting. However, I really like my eyes and ears! I usually struggle with those too and this time they worked better. But the nose, ugh... why? I really need to practice more, maybe I will paint some noses?

I think you have a really consistent style and anybody who has not studied horse anatomy more than a veterinarian wouldn’t know anything was off in any of your drawings! Love your art!
