Question for veteran cat owners!

Is there anything you have faced that no amount of prior research could have prepared you for?

Like, you thought you had everything all set up but then you find out something like “oo, didn’t expect this cat to hate when I wear headphones”.

This is kinda graphic but I feel like this is something important for animal owners to be aware of. And that is degloving, it is actualy not that rare. It's basicly when the skin and such is ripped off (usally tail) and the bone is exposed. So basicly bone tail.

I've had this happen to two of my cats. My cats like to dart outside even you open the door for a milisecond. And the door will slam shut on their tail ripping the skin off. One of my cats had just a little bit ripped off. One of my other ones had half her tail degloved. They both survied, their tails just look a little funky. The first one has sience past of natural causes/old age, but this was a long time after his degloving. The other one is still alive and in good health! She is my baby!

While not posing health risks if you get your cat to the vet in time. It is still going to haunt me after seeing my cat with half her tail be bone. And I hope no other cat owner really sees it. I'm also really sensitive, and really love cats.

We removed something off our door, the thing that makes it slam shut. So if you don't want this happening be really careful, or remove part of the door.

Sorry if this is too graphic, but nothing could really prepare for.
I had no idea that the bastards will sometimes develop a habit of sucking on blankets, clothes or anything soft and warm in general. Better make them lose it quickly, lol
The random acts of murder 😆
My cat thinks she's some kind of ninja or something, so she will attack me at random.
