So there was a thing on Twitter yesterday for making #Finishinfinitytrain trend to hopefully helping it get a renewal. Since I don’t have twitter I’ll be sharing my thoughts here instead, on why I think it’s a great show worth renewing.
So first of all I’m really into "deeper" and darker cartoons, that aren’t neccessarily for kids. Infinity Train is a Sci-fi cartoon created by Owen Dennis, it’s about this train with different pocket dimentions for each car. The passengers gets transported to the train to deal with their problems in life basically. It’s a great show about mental health and personal growth and it does what it does excellently. Also the writing and characters are amazing! I really like the format of it too; same world but focusing on different characters each season, that in the end strings together in an overall story.
Infinity Train isn’t exactly that kid friendly but I don’t see why that’s a problem unless they market it as one. There’s a lot of teens/adults that are into western animation, the audience is right there... it’s such a shame CN and HBO max doesn’t see it as profitable just bc it’s animation and not suitable for children.
Also they weren’t really doing a good job promoting it when it first started or a new season dropped, and it’s currently only legally available in America... so it’s not that weird if a lot of people didn’t know about it yet.
I just think the platforms was unfair in how they treated the show. It deserves better bc it’s a really good show and I think it brings something great to western animation!
Lastly, I wanna mention that the creator had the whole of season 5 written, and season 4 (aka the last we got) was basically a prologue season building up to it. The show was originally planned to have 8 seasons in total, but if we can’t have that at least greenlit the already written season 5 for a proper ending.
