Idk why but i treasure the idea that people who meet Potalia see his easygoing somewhat childish mannerisms and inhuman exterior and assume he doesn't know anything about sex, but then he does and that scares them more than anything because you know. They had ExPecTaTiOns
He's been so fun to write too, because he was born in the day and place where the sex ed was watching sheep in a field so his knowledge is quite flawed and he also has zero interest in figuring it out in practice, so in his head, there's kind of a mess and it's funny. I'm done with characters either knowing everything or nothing at all abt sex. I need me an oc who assumes weird shit and then their friends are like "that's not even remotely how that happens". I mean he does know the "general" idea but it's also very heteronormative and since he never felt any attraction he thinks it's made up to make marriage sacred, like a ritual or something. Another thing I liked exploring. He doesn't understand why Tóbar and Archibald are married bc if they're both men and didn't adopt children what's the point? And they they sort of explain that sometimes people get married bc they like each other, attraction and everything, and he's like "wait that's actually a thing?" bc he also assumed it was made up bc he's never felt it himself. He just thought people marry and have sex bc they're afraid that nothing is left when they die so they need childrenDec 30, 2021
