@alba_r_art's post on Artfol
I think I might need some help here, my fellow artist
I'm super overwelmed on insta right now. I've been doing fanart of this famous book and the numbers are not that big but they are crazy big for me. I posted this last shit at lunch time, I ate out with a friend, came to insta four hours later and it had 2500 likes, 60 coments, 50 new followers and like 30 message request between people mentioning me on their stories and people who wanted to commission me or just chat a little bit about the book or congrat me for the artwork. And of course it will keep growing till tomorrow. It's been like this for two months or so everytime I post and they are seriouslly not that big, this numbers, and it's normal with fanart BUT HOW DO PEOPLE DEAL WITH THAT MUCH INTERACCIONS WHAT THE HELL. I DON'T HAVE THE TIME TO ANSWER TO THAT MANY PEOPLE, I WANT TO BUT I CANT.
Now if anyone has some idk tips for Interacting in social media or something???? I just feel like I dont want to deal with that much notifications everytime I post a dumb thing of a dumb book I'm reading. Even if love that people enjoy the art and the book it's too much time on InstagramJun 9, 2022

I don' really have experience myself because I hardly get interactions on my post and deleted insta because of all the ads and tracking.
What I would suggest though, as someone who manages small social media channels of a company:
- make a regular schedule for posting. Like put in a timer or reminder and only post then. So you will likely know when you get answer and interactions
- you can only like comments. It tells people you saw them.
- if you wanna interact more, make a schedule for that as well. Depending how much time you have, once or twice a week for xx minutes. You use that timeframe for managing your channel besides posting.
- turn off notifications so you just look at insta when your reminder/schedule pops up.

Whoa! Congrats! But also mood, it gets so tiring so quickly. I really don’t have a set way of dealing with it and idk if this will count as advice.
Just prioritize what kinds of comments you want to answer. Ones that you could reply with a thank you can just be given a heart (which feels kinda mean oof)
Take breaks too, you don’t need to answer things immediately, you can answer five and then come back several hours later to answer five more.
I guess the most important thing I do is set a time limit. How long do I want to spend replying to things today? Once you hit that time limit just close the app.
Idk if any of that is helpful or makes sense I am running on 4hrs of sleep :’). Running social media takes so much time and energy. You just have to set hard limits on how much of you are willing to spend managing it.

Don't think I can offer much advice cause this has never happened to me hahah. That's certainly a lot of interactions to deal with though..
Maybe the instagram story can be used? Like to thank them and tell them you won't be able to reply everyone. Then reply only to the ones that you want. Or maybe you can just like the comments without replying? Idk if this helps

•Ive watched alot of yt vids about this subject :) just reply to the ones you want to but don't feel pressured to reply to everyone since it's alot! Maybe replying to three a day is a good rule.
But there is alot of great advice here too
good luck my friend!

•Hey I think that ur okay to interact less -- like the more attention you get the less you have to reply and connect
Even though you post online you don't owe people your time and it's not rude and it's okay
Like ur posting ur art for free online
Maybe muting and checking your socials at designated times for only a set time so that it doesn't consume your whole day
But congratulations your art is amazing and you deserve recognition - and ur numbers are big!
But it's okay to be selfish with ur time
Like even this doesn't need any interaction

•I don't have that much clout so I'm not super experienced in this thing so my advice prolly isn't the greatest ^^; but please don't pressure yourself to reply to everyone or anything!! If you're getting a lot of interaction at once, it's completely normal to not be able to respond to every single person and you shouldn't feel bad about it if you can't ;; Just keep being yourself and peoples will be peoples and do what they do, but you aren't obligated to respond to every single share or comment, especially if it's stressing you out ;;

•Primero, felicidades!

•First of all congrats, it’s awesome that you’re getting so much recognition for your work!! Those numbers are way bigger than I’ve ever dealt with so I don’t know if this will be helpful, but I always find having stock responses very useful! If it’s comments and multiple people will see what you reply, I like to have a selection of phrasings to vary between, but for DMs? No one else is gonna know you said the same thing to the last person, paste it straight in!
And you could maybe put something in your bio saying enquire about commissions via email or something? So you don’t need to trawl through your DMs checking if they’re just compliments vs potential paying clients, and you can put replying to DMs on the back burner a bit.

•I wish I had that problem haha, I barely get any interaction on Instagram these days
I think if it's bothering you, just take it easy and don't feel pressured to reply to every comment and message! ^^
