More SOC rewrite info. The sapient species (name permanence pending) are called mantryfs. A mantryf color and pattern wise can be based on any bird of prey, ray (like stingrays and manta rays), cat or a mix of all 3. Keep in mind they live in a middle ground between a gas giant and an ice giant. On average, they would be the size of a basking shark or a whale shark, that size is unremarkable on their planet (they live on a giant gas planet, there's obviously gonna be huge creatures there, especially the further in the planet they are). The wind speed is slower at the equator and faster at the poles. Equator mantryfs would be different from ones that live near the poles, I imagine the polar mantryfs would be like those that live in harsh environments and still get by while the ones on the equator are city folk in mild environments. The difference in behavior and living conditions would also apply to those that live in different atmospheric levels of the planet. This has impacts on different culture and religious practices as well.
