A little Death-y doodle
[oc Lord Death]Wanting to nail down Death's design some more and capture a feeling I didn't in my December sketches. Especially want to lean into how he looked when I first posted his updated design with Helena around June 2022.
I want the gods of my pantheon to feel... Off. As if - being the anthropomorphic personification of an entire concept - the vessel that carries them is influenced by their nature. Is a little unstable; warped. When you look at a vessel of a god, said vessel is just an intermediary between your mortal self and a very aspect of existence.
For Lord Death, he appears as a darkness. Not a fabric cloak nor exactly shadow (unless he dips into one), but a pane of black. Visually he has no third dimension to him (save in his mask). No tone or form, just shape. I assume looking at him for too long would hurt your eyes.Feb 28, 2023
