I started writing my essay on constructivism like oh, i am a bit more familiar with this one than other avant-garde movements, it'll be easier, this is fine, and now I am like "yeah so dear readers of this essay it seems the western graphic designers mainly use constructivist influences to make posters about 1984 and dictatorship when it was, while undoubtedly full of propaganda, used to call to action on stuff like teaching kids to read, adopting and raising children, generally erasing the cultiral boundaries between classes by raising the levels of literacy"
i am not saying the ussr was like, the perfect place, it has its share of horrible deeds, but man the american propaganda influence is strong. there's so much to interrogate in terms of the propaganda that was Actually put into these posters and how it was formed, and how it Actually affected the soviet people, not whatever americans made up to look better than the soviets, and how the soviet designers talked about not allowing the "western influence" affect their precious posters, but instead everyone zoomed in on the pure un-nuanced dictatorship, like stfu, you're missing all the REAL parts of the propaganda!
