the thorny yet sweet embrace of roses 
here's a painting of Phoenix!! (she/her). I felt like posting more about her after my latest post *
I drew this in march :3 I actually was going to post it back then and even had a draft in my old phone, but I forgot to post it... I think I'll just let past me explain:
"ok, so- I wanted to draw something that someone else would paint. Because one of my OCs [at this point I hadn't introduced him yet, but I'm talking about Set here] makes paintings! And I tried to imagine how a painting of his would look like. This is why this might look a liiiiiiiittle different from my usual art. It's mostly the rendering method because the airbrush and basic pen are my true loves in life, but now I experimented with brushes to try and make this look like a painting. Kinda. To be honest I got kinda lazy at some point-
I really like the signature I made! [It's in the bottom right] It feels weird to not use my signature in an illustration, but I wanted to keep the immersion and make a signature for Set, the painter... I was inspired by late middle ages/early modern era artists with really detailed signatures, though I leaned a bit into iconography, oops!"
thanks Rocky from the past!! Something I'll add is that I love the soft expression Phoenix has here. She's meant to be a villain... I wonder why would anyone paint her in such a loving way? I don't know guys, but I love found families. Unrelated fact :)Dec 8, 2025
