Also, I decided to make the challenge harder on myself by also throwing a personal challenge in there.
I've been watching a lot of Winged Canvas videos, as their channel has been helping me improve my art - plus, i like putting on tutorials while I draw anyway. One of them talked about polychromatic colour schemes and how they're super hard to work with and balance.
Naturally, I, not very experienced with the more complex color schemes, have since been wanting to draw or paint something with that.
Noticing the comment with the rainbow, I decided to use this challenge to do exactly that.
I incorporated the tooth both with the fangs and one of the two necklaces.
The merman is obvious - I didn't want to do the cliche trident though, so i gave him this pearl staff thing instead.
And the rainbow I incorporated via the colour scheme
Not sure how well i did on the whole color balancing stuff but whatever, I had fun! Cool challenge op
He/They pronouns for them, I don't have a name or story for the character yet, especially since i haven't actually worldbuilt my merfolk, whoops- i also don't know whats up with the staff
