Firebending trainingOur dear Kaoru getting some firebending practice 
I referenced a picture of someone doing Northern Shaolin Kung Fu since that's apparently what firebending is based on, and I think it turned out alright. Also tried my hand at backgrounds again! I haven't drawn a background in so long and it's very refreshing. I'm tired of characters standing in a void, I need a scene! Some environment! And though it's pretty simple, it did make the piece better I think.
Designing his outfit was nice because Kaoru already wears traditional Japanese clothes in canon, which are similar to fire nation attire :D so I only really had to simplify it and change the colours a bit, and voilà
As for Joe's outfit, I recently found some Avatar clothing references I saved god knows when, and some of them had such Joe vibes. So I have some ideas for him as well. Stay tuned ~Dec 29, 2024
