Last of 2022One last piece for the road, 2022.

I was going to rest after my art summary, but I got bored and felt like creating something.

Here's a teapot from my mother's cookbook about Hong Kong recipes that I've never read but looked at multiple times for the visuals. The photo was in greyscale so I took liberties with the colors and added a bunch of stuff.

Next year is the year of the rabbit, so maybe I should have drawn rabbits instead of goldfishes, but goldfishes are stunning so ...✨

Anyways, some of you are already in the New Year. How does it feel to be in the future? πŸ‘οΈπŸ‘„πŸ‘οΈβœŒοΈ

Side note: I wanted to practice this painting as if I was doing it traditionally but I cheated in the end and used the burn filter for improved saturation and contrast.

In life the new year, I'd like to improve on my brush work. Maybe less messy, more smooth? And I'll hope to do studies/illustrations without using filters, so I get a stronger sense of colors, values and hues. I want to do traditional painting one day.
