You'd think having brown skin myself I'd know how lighting works on brown skin but I don't
I just tossed colors on that dude.
They still don't have names and I'm okay with that. They're not related at all.
The old dude watches over them out of a sense of responsibility. He doesn't have any fatherly instincts and does the bare minimum. He's in his 40s-50s, feeling the effects of aging but can still run and do physically intensive things decently.
The red haired girl (and I have a lot of OCs with red hair
hilarious cause I've never met anyone with red hair irl) is a young teen. Still has the child like instincts in her. Very brash and straight forward, she has no sisterly or motherly instincts and prefers to follow the middle aged dude to forage and hunt. He lets her do as she pleases most of the time, not because he's heartless and doesn't care, but because he doesn't have the fears parents do of seeing their child get hurt.
The child with the orange sweater is around 10 - 12 years old. He has brotherly instincts, which is great because the little one with the blond hair would have died from neglect in the other twos' hands. He enjoys having human connections which is severely lacking since most people are dead or prefer living with other adults since children are dead weight.
The blond one's mother died from malnutrition. She used to scavenge and give all she found to her son. He doesn't remember her and sees the orange sweater kid as his guardian.
I don't know how they all met yet.

The is so much lore! It's such a interesting character and story building!! >:O and the drawing is great the cozy contrast to the moody background brings out even more emotion :D

β’AHHH I didn't realize how much I connected with these characters over such a short time! Seeing them together like this was such a nice surprise and hit me in the feels the way it does when a show's characters have a reunion or crossover. It's so beautifully painted too. Since the light is very bright and yellow, almost green, I feel like it makes sense the way you painted the guy's skin. It really feels like a warm but also spooky gathering.
Also that rabbit in the corner, I want it.
