Vocaloid 101Hellooo! In this post, I will explain what is Vocaloid, who is Hatsune Miku and I'll recommend some people to check out!
What is Hatsune Miku?
You may already know who she is. A cute anime girl with green/blue pigtails! But what is she? A character from an anime?
Even tho she appears in some anime as a reference, Hatsune is a virtual singer, a voicebank. She's basically a collection of recorded singing notes by a human provider (Miku's voice is provided by Saki Fujita, a voice actress). Voicebanks, when used alongside a singing software, can sing in whatever way you want them to! You can manipulate their voice to create melodies 
What is Vocaloid?
It's a singing software! It's a voice synthesizer application that makes voicebanks (such as Miku) work. By using softwares like Vocaloid, producers can make their preferred virtual singer sing! It's like using an instrument. Also, there are many other singing softwares! There's Utau(which is free btw), SynthV, CeVIO, NEUTRINO, Piapro (Miku's new singing software), etc. And each of them have their own voicebanks.
Check these guys out:
KIRA --> He makes really beautiful and western-like pop songs in english! He makes the voicebanks sound almost like real people and enjoys doing lots of riffs and runs with their voices
Neru --> Angst. Makes lots of great songs in japanese, they're usually depressing. Always fire. Used to make more rock-ish songs but now goes for a more pop and fun style (still depressing tho)
Minnemi --> She makes really fun vocaloid content on her YouTube channel. Videos explaining stuff, memes, covers, etc.
DECO*27 --> One of the vocaloid gods. Has almost a million subs on YouTube! This dude makes really great japanese pop songs using Miku.
Kanaria --> He's a rather new producer! I guess you may already have seen a song called "KING" that lots of people make covers of. That song belongs to Kanaria, he makes lots of unique yet similar songs to KING. A really skilled producer
TORA_V4 --> memes and covers. Lots of memes and covers.
PinocchioP --> This dudeeee, he's also one of the vocaloid gods. Great japanese pop songs, ya gotta check him out
QueenPb --> She's also a new producer but her songs slap! Her songs have a really fun indie vibe. Her songs are in english
Utsu-P --> Ya like metal? Ya like rock? This guy's got you covered. It's so good~
ubnubmaster --> He makes really interesting video essays explaining stuff about vocaloid history and the fandom. The videos are pretty short but can explain a lot!
Rishie-P --> A rather new producer. She usually makes really cool covers using mainly Solid Miku (a Miku voicebank with a more "crisp" voice. Really powerfull with lots of growls). But also makes some original songs from time to time. Mostly japanese songs
23.exe --> Cute and chill Miku rap. Be warned, after listening to his songs you will feel extra chill~
VocaCircus --> He's always releasing great original songs! Mostly pop-ish songs in english, chinese and japanese!
