The argument was about Eva Stratt btw. SPOILERS FOR PROJECT HAIL MARY
Like yeah she did send him up there to die. It's hard to stomach. Grace has every right to feel betrayed and upset and traumatized by what happened. It's upsetting! You can't force someone to sacrifice themselves, but Eva did anyway.
But Grace was also going to make sacrifices. He was going to sacrifice 8 billion human beings, not to mention the rest of Earth's animal population. He was going to cut short the lives of every single living being on the planet because he was scared to die.
And I love that about him because it's realistic! I would be shitting my pants in this scenario, too! I'd be terrified, I'd fight back, I'd refuse. And the movie doesn't hold this against him. He demonstrates bravery time and time again, showing us that he's not a coward for having refused in the first place. He was a human being who was scared. Eva was, too. She was doing what she thought was right, not what she thought was good.
Anywayyy I just think this was such an interesting angle to take with the story. JUST STOP YOUR CRYING ITS A SIGN OF THE TIMESSS
