Council of HuchaSo remember my character Plin, the emo deer boy, well in our dnd campaign, he comes from a planet with imperialistic ambitions: Hucha (our DM allowed us to world-build whichever planet our character came from). Hucha is an icy planet that has gained a lot of influence and power in the solar system, Ylaumir. It's an oligarchy, meaning a handful of people run the whole place. In this case, it's the Council of Hucha, a group of 6 people that each have their own ministry and territory to manage. Here's some info on the members (from top to bottom, left to right):
Erin, 23, Ministry of Internal Affairs: Erin is a woman with a hot temper but a fair heart that 2 of my friends have already fallen for. She was the youngest person to ever become a counsellor at the age of 16! She's a descendant of Hedrek (which we will see later) and has the emblematic green eyes associated with her family, the Eires. She's very popular amongst Huchians who praise her for her dedication to the planet.
Britannicus, 19, Ministry of Justice: Britannicus is the first ever Faccuo to become a council member(essentially the Huchian population is divided into 3 sub-races: the homini, the fuga and the faccuos, the latter 2 being societal outcasts. Homini have horns (like goats, cows, antelope, etc), Fuga have antlers, and Faccuos, descendants of both Fuga and Homini, have two-branched antlers. There's more to the story, but too long to explain here). Although he's a bit shy and faces a lot of prejudice, he's a hard worker and forces respect from those who interact with him. He's best friends with Erin.
Hedrek, 500+, Ministry of External Affairs. Guys, you'll never guess who the bad guy is. Hedrek is an infamous man with an iron fist on the council and very dangerous ambitions. I can't say too much because my player friends use artfol, but yee, big bad vibes.
Deirdre, 47, Ministry of Economy. Deirdre is a high-society woman with a taste for luxurious accessories. She isn't very good at her job, often prioritising the well-being of the wealthy Huchians rather that the Huchian economy as a whole. On top of that, she has a secret love affair! (but with whom? That is the question).
Vortigern, 54, Ministry of Internal Ressources. Vortigern is no politician. He's a man doing simple but honest work in and around Huchian mines, where the valuable "gourate" (a sort of hyper-powerful petrol) is extracted from the earth. He does, however, love to taunt others, and is widely regarded as having a distasteful and rude personality.
Arthur, 39, Ministry of Defence. Arthur is the well-respected Legate Commander of the Huchian armies. He always treats others as equals, has a big sense of justice, and values the well-being of Hucha over all else. He also happens to be a spy under disguise in our group sent to watch Plin (we've already revealed him, so no worries about spoilers), and tbh you might as well call them boyfriends at this point.
I've been spending a lot of time developing Hucha, imagining its flags, its history and its government. I've even started writing short stories from each of the counsellor's lives, which I wish I could share, but not confident enough in doing so. In any case, imagining every detail of an entire planet has been a blast!Aug 22, 2023
