My second entry for #magicalmythologymonthHey y'all! This is Skadi - the Norse goddess of Winter
I'm trying to make sure I put research into each of these, and as she is a huntress, I made sure to include her bow, as well as looking into Norse runes somewhat. The ones on her face (from top to bottom) mean: protection, warrior, the self. From what I know of runic and sigil magic - the marking would act as a protection as well as a boost to her fighting (and therefore hunting) ability - so they seemed fitting. The mark on her shoulder pad (as shown on the last slide) means wolf. I found this on Pinterest so I can't give accurate credit but she's said to have a wolf companion in mythology, so it made sense.
She's a goddess of the mountains, so I tried to make the background give a 'sun rising over the mountains' vibe without actually drawing a full scene. Plus, it helped colour balance all the cool tones :)
I am aware that the page has bleed through marks on it from where I forgot to remove the previous drawing before colouring, but idk any way to fix that, sorry!
