plants plants plants
Sparkbright WIP :) Spark is v passionate about shoes and vehicles and machinery, so I am chanelling my inner Sparkbright with the rest of this caption- (it happened by accident I just couldn't stop rambling about my succulents)- - -
Guys I'm really sad about my succulent :((( Winter is about to start and we've been getting so many cloudy days. It's partially my fault because I keep forgetting to put my jade plant right next to the window before I head off to work, but also some days we're just barely getting any sunlight :( I realised my jadie started etiolating recently and the only way to fix it up is by pruning, but I need to wait for its growing season (Spring) or else it'll look even sadder
I'm going to relocate it outside of my room (which was going to happen eventually once it grew big enough), but it's making me sad that my plant is moving out (temporarily) already T^TI also overwatered it too much a few months ago (ugh embarrassing rookie mistake I thought I knew better T^T) and got rid of some leaves that were turning black, but it turns out those leaves were fine?? Jadie just started propagating on her own after the separated leaf was sitting in the pot dirt for two weeks andnsns I didn't think it had the strength left in it-
Also the underside of their leaves are really purple and it's definitely related to the sunlight but I can't find many resources online about it- I don't know if it's a negative sign relating to the amount of sun she's taking in? Compared to the ideal
jade plant, she's quite green (without the cute sunset tips), so it's weird seeing the stark contrast of purple when you have a lower view of her. I do kinda wish Jadie was more sunset-y, but apparently you have to stress the plant out for that and I 1. don't feel knowledged enough to figure that out, 2. think it relates to sunlight intake and it's too cloudy at the moment to try it out, and 3. lowkey feel guilty at the thought of screwing Jadie's system just because I want them to look prettier XDMeanwhile my chocolate rose is thriving (he's getting a little lanky but again, that can only be fixed in Spring
) and he's my lesser favourite of the two XD Succulents really do thrive on neglect lmao (but also Rosie can handle Winter a bit better since direct sunlight isn't actually as good for him)I think I should gather up some money during Winter to buy proper equipment in time for Spring haha- I don't have the right potting mix and I need to invest in some pruning scissors?
I love my silly succulents so much dear lord- I'm getting sad over putting my succulents in a different part of the house lmao, I would not survive having children XD How do parents cope with them growing up, it would destroy me XD Thank god I'm not having kids ajdnsndndn
Also I haven't watered them in forever and it's messing with me lmao XD I know I don't need to water them because they haven't shown signs of needing it yet, but it feels like it's been over a month since they've last had a little sippy. I don't actually know the time between watering days since I don't track it, but in Summer/Spring it's usually a little over a week? I need to get used to their Winter schedules hahahaMay 30, 2024

Rip your succulent
Hahah yeah succulents are some funny plants I always do water once a week in the summer and once every two weeks in the winter (how much depends on the soil)

•Succulent plants are really cool. My mom has a lot, I should probably learn the names of all them lol. On the topic of plants, I had a Venus flytrap and they're fussy about what type of water they get. Distilled water only. Other than that they're really neat, it's fun feeding them stuff :) anyway I hope you get your succulents sorted out!!
