I have an official logo for my business~~!!
It was made by the amazing ai.cr.pr on Instagram! She really outdid herself here.
So you might be wondering, why did I pick a crescent moon? Fun fact: it's not a crescent moon, it's a red spider lily petal in the shape of one. Notice it has stems by the ends? :o
Why did I pick a red spider lily? Well, I love flowers, I love its symbolism, and I love Japanese culture in general. My art is anime-inspired mixed in with semi-realism. But something I like to do is tell a story with each work I make. I love talking about my characters, I don't like making empty art. So everything has meaning behind it. Sometimes I have too much to tell, which is why I should like... write more books than just two >.< Or just finish the ones I have in queue.
Anyway, another thing I found out is that I am making more dark/horror-themed art. Sure, the present art is cutesy, but the backstories for most characters are not.
The red spider lily not only means death, but also the afterlife, farewells, and the boundary between life and death. So we combined the dark element to make something beautiful out of it. The reason I picked Vivid Royal (purple) and Soft Blush (light pink. Those are the names of the colors) was because those are among my favorite colors. I love black, but I also l love purple and pastel colors. Vivid Royal is a color that catches your eye, it's fancy. The Soft Blush is delicate. I think it's a lovely combination.
I don't think I will make it a profile picture here because in part, Instagram and Ko-Fi are the places where I do all the business stuff. Plus, I don't know how to explain this well, but basically I want to stay true to myself here. I don't want to be thought of as just a brand who's going to be all salesy to you. I want to share my stories and art as myself. Even though on Instagram I try to be me, but I think we all know we can't be ourselves at that site. I will still share my booth pictures here because it's part of the growth as an artist. But basically I think I will remain with the current profile picture for now.
