Getting my wisdom teeth removed tomorrow and somehow I don't even feel afraid. I'll get stuff to calm me down, anaesthesia, and anaesthesia for the anaesthesia. As long as I don't have to see any of the instruments they use (especially the needle) I should be fine. My mom has talked to me a lot about the pain after to the point where I'm kinda curious what it will feel like and how intense it is (I'm hoping it's not very intense of course, but I wanna see what I can and can't do, for example what it will be like to talk or eat). Hopefully this calm won't vanish as I wait in the office tomorrow. Wish me luck

•I got mine removed 2 weeks ago!
You should probably try to eat really mushy, non-chunky stuff for the first 3 days or so! Stuff like applesauce, yogurt, jello, & spoon-eating smoothies & milkshakes! You don’t wanna risk getting any food chunks stuck in one of the “wisdom teeth holes!” I had a teeny piece of food stuck in the lower right & it made my face, head, & ear severely hurt, including making it feel like my ear was bleeding a few times; & the swelling didn’t fully go down because of it. Everything was/is healing great, just had a little something where there shouldn’t be anything, so it was irritated!
If you haven’t already been told this, you probably should do your best to not drink out of a straw (or suck on things) as well as not spit! You can accidentally dislodge the blood clot that’s supposed to form in your teeth holes & lead to a world of pain.
The 3rd day after ANY surgery is said to be the worst, which includes wisdom teeth removal! I ended up trying & kinda succeeding in sleeping nearly the entire day away to escape the pain.
Your jaw may become a bit locked up for a few weeks like mine still is right now! Meaning, you won’t be able to open your mouth as far as you’re supposed to for a while, so don’t worry if that ends up happening!
I also ended up drooling a lot, specifically waking up & finding that I drooled a bit! You may also taste a very yucky taste in your mouth a lot near the beginning, especially when you wake up. I’m pretty sure the yucky taste is blood, & it’s normal for it to bleed a bit, even after a week has passed. When your mouth is bleeding a bit, most of it is spit with just a teeny bit of blood, so if it seems like you’re drooling, it could be just a bit of normal bleeding!
The IV they gave me knocked me out COLD. I was perfectly awake, I blinked... but then my eyes didn’t actually open back up until like an hour later when they were done & had already taken the IV out.
It was definitely rough for me in the beginning, but I’m already a lot better after 2 weeks! I hope everything goes smoothly for you! It’s definitely nice to know you only have to do it once (if you’re getting all 4 out like I did!)
