Servants redraw #2He's always been the problem child. Even though I made all of he original drawings in one day, one of them in approx 15 minutes, meaning quality wasn't exactly what I was going for with them, this one always felt like it fell really short. I hated something about the way I made him but didn't exactly know what.
Now that I drew him again I realised that I actually really liked the design I got for him and didn't feel like there was much more I could improve. It's just in how I did all those design ideas and details that I didn't like, especially the awful color scheme. Now I can finally say I like how I he looks. And since I've expanded his lore and gave him some unique things here and there I actually started to like him a lot. Once I get better and finally settle down on his name and some more details, I might actually draw him again.
One thing that still really pained me though is his face for sure. I can't quite put my finger on it but something really doesn't feel right about it, especially the eyes. I tried to fix and change it a few times from scratch, and settled on this version, but it still irritates me. Biggest problem I had with fixing them, other than the original version of the eyes somehow looking better every time, was that when I changed them to look more "normal" they lost the twisted expression and feeling I wanted them to keep. Still, I think they look ok enough now (also I'm trying anymore, I tried enough)Feb 7, 2024
