Archive Yoko expressions challengeFirst art since getting a new tablet and getting back from my unplanned break! Well, sort of. This thing is old as hell.
It's one of those projects I started back in the fay, was very enthusiastic about for a while and then as I kept running into trouble I kept feeling and less and less motivated to finish it. It's been lying in my folder not even halfway finished for many years now and whenever I revisited it in hopes of picking it up again, I was quickly overwhelmed. So many empty spaces left, seeing how the full template has 25, and so many things to change about what I've already made.
Today I decided it's time to get back to work, picked up my pen again and went through all my recent, unfinished or simply not-yet-fully-abandoned projects and ended up opening this miserable thing again. It's been a sad experience every time because on one hand, I still like at least a few of those faces I've made and still feel proud about them, so I didn't want the artwork to just "go to waste", but on the other hand every time I opened it I knew I'm never going to finish it.
Today when I opened it I made a decision I'm gonna give it a more proper send off than abandoning it completely - i'll salvage what I've made and make it somewhat more presentable. This is where we are now.
Hopefully i'll manage to do something similar for other artworks like this one, but if not then it was nice I managed to get at least one sorted out.
Now with this old relic revisited as a warmup it's time I get back to actually drawing new things again. Perhaps i'll go back to the challenge itself at some point and do it properly. I still need the practice it helps with and it's the reason I started it all those years ago. But well, time will tellMar 27, 2024
