Does anybody else find it kinda depressing how people talk about their age? Like "I'm 21 I'm so old" and stuff like that, all it ever did was make me afraid of the future and not want to grow olderAug 29, 2023

It's actually annoying.
Especially when they start projecting onto me. Like literally everyone kept referring to me as an old person as if I was 70 or something. Even people older than me kept saying I'm so old now. It's a good way to hammer at someone's esteem.
both of my parents are 50 and they're happier than ever, living their best lives. so no, growing old doesn't scare me, never did actually. it's just how life is.
No? I usually don’t think too much about the future so that’s probably why?

21 hasn’t been considered truly old in a LONG time since medicine has improved to lengthen our lifespans to 60 or 80+.

I’ve always just seen people saying that as a combination of hyberbole & people really realizing they’re not children anymore, & because all anyone’s really used to is being a kid, 21 seems old by comparison because technically, they ARE older than previously!
yeah, i get pretty nervous too. i’m turning 19 in less then a month and i am not happy about it - even scarier watching my girlfriend turn 19 too. aging sucks, keep your youth alive as long as possible
I’m like that. I don’t know why but I’ll be 22 soon and I keep thinking I’m wasting my life away and won’t be able to do what I want it life. No matter what age you can do what you want
