2021 art summaryJan - Mar: Nothing. I was writing then. Never finished a single story.
Apr - Jun: Joined Artfol. Drew on Ibis Paint X on my phone. Got inspired to do more from seeing other people's art.
July - Dec: Krita and tablet. Originally struggled with how to draw then render because I used to draw the sketch traditionally with a pencil before coloring on ibis paint.
Final take away: I avoided full bodies. Next year's goals - full bodies and backgrounds with perspective. Also practically everything I did was a DTIYS, Artfol challenge or someone's OC. I have to create my own projects.
Final comments: Ad astra per aspera. To the stars through hardship. Many times I've disliked my art or my current skill level. But I probably won't quit unless someone forces me to. I'll keep at even. Eventually, I'll find a place I'm comfortable staying.
PS: I think I'll redraw that Anastasia Tremaine fan art every year to find out how I've improved since it was one of the first digital art I made using references. Plus I like her character growth.
PPS: I'm glad Artfol exists. I'm glad the people in the Artfol community exists. Just by being here, I feel like I grow or at least desire to grow more.
Thanks for 2021. I hope to be here in 2022.Dec 23, 2021
As the other commenter said, the detail in the most recent pieces is keep up with it, your work is going to go far and you always have amazing ideas and concepts!
Teres a lot of people who start by sketching traditionally with a pencil, scanning and then either using the sketch lines as lineart or paint over top of it. I did that for a year or so myself. And Krita is amazing! I will always vouch for how good it is! And I'll agree that joining artfol and seeing others art was majorly inspiring.
