Home in the TreesThis is an older drawing of Emily's house! Her mom had it made for her when she was young so that when she finally does enter the hidden world, she has a place all to herself to live! This is because Dragons and those descended from Dragons are known for being especially reclusive.
The design isn't final, but it's probably pretty close. I really like the 2 stories where the top is a half story. There will likely be a bridge to a nearby tree which will have a staircase to the ground for flightless guests. Also not terribly certain of the scale at the moment. It's meant to be on the largest tree in the forest (built in a way that it won't damage the tree, of course) and that's probably at least 60 if not 100 feet off the ground.
Where I live in Arizona, we don't have huge trees or forests. We have deserts filled with palo Verde, jumping cholla, and creosote that makes the rain smell different. I think I romanticize the forest a lot but I have trouble drawing it because I have never had the chance to sit in one and just draw it.
