Shark x Cats

I was planning to add this as part of the Archive, but I forgot so now it's not. Luckily it's not that old so I suppose it's fine.
As for the idea behind it there's not much to say - I like gura, I like cats and wanted to draw some fanart so I did.
There is a very interesting, personal aspect to this artwork though - my reception of it and the process. Back when I was drawing it, it caused me a lot of trouble. It was a real effort for me to actually finish it and make it satisfactory enough for my brain. When I was finally done it felt almost cathartic - I didn't even take into consideration what it actually looked like, I just really hated the piece. It ended up completely different from what I wanted it to be, it was a chore to make and it had plenty of errors in it. It was a failure.
But now, looking back at it, whenever I look at it I'm very happy I made it. I even genuinely like how it came out. All the things I screwed up still hurt my eyes real bad - the sleeves, the cat, the list goes on forever. And still I like it. As I grew it shifted from being a failure to being asymbol of my own growth, my acceptance of my mistakes. I'm not gonna get philosophical and sentimental here, but what I wanna say is - the real art in this piece for me is what can't be seen, what it did for me. And because I'm here to share art, I want to share this kind of art too.

Also, I really want to draw Gura again sometime soon
