NumbHi guys! I got really busy with finals but since school is basically over (there’s a week left but who cares) I finally have some time to sit down and upload the shit ton of art I have. I’m thinking of trying to do a Saturday/Sunday and Wednesday upload schedule but we’ll see how it goes

Im basically going to be uploading the pieces in a sorta-order of how I made them just so it’s kinda more consistent in art styles. This one I originally did months ago but then my style changed a bit so I completely redid it and changed the color concept slightly. The idea behind a lot of these pieces has to do with emotion and specifically a lot of the more uncomfortable emotions I have dealt with due to declining mental health, and a lot of the symbolism does come from colors and color meanings, as well as containing an overarching story having to do with robots and a factory sort of thing

For this piece, I wanted to show the idea of numbness, when your emotions get so overwhelming that you switch them off because feeling nothing is better than feeling everything at once. It’s a type of protective measure I’ve taken and used a lot of the time, but even though it’s nice to be in a kind of bliss or not dealing with anything that’s bothering you, you end up becoming so flat it’s hard to connect with others. In a factory, this is what they expect of you, for robots to be unfeeling machines only made to produce the most amount of work. For those of the robots that don’t function in that way, they are expected to turn it off and conform to everyone else, because that is the only way for the factory to keep going.May 22, 2022
