Ah, one of my favourite. I know the art's very simplistic and unremarkabke, but I'm just gonna drop him here in case I'll want to draw him in the future.He is the single dumbest character I have made and I live him for it. And dumbest both metaphorically and literally.
His creation came about in a very meta way: I tried to make his class-race combo in such a way so that he can survive through death as long as possible, leading me to a half-orc zealot. At lvl 20 I believe in perfect conditions he could survive up to 10-20 turns when he should've already been unconscious. How does he actually do that you might wonder and the answer is very simple - he's too dumb to ubderstand he should be dead.
His strength and constitution were remarkable and also, surprisingly, his intelligence. As a noble he read books all the time from a very young age and has essentially memorised whole libraries. He can recite passages from obscure encyclopedias without even thinking about it. That's the secret though - he's not thinking about it. He's not thinking much at all really. He only remembers things, but doesn't really know what to do with that knowledge or what it entails. He can explain in great detail how the human body works but it would never cross his mind that maybe punching the sick guy in the gut isn't the best cure for his stomachache.
Speaking of which, punching. That's his universal problem solver. Weapons are lame, complicated and unreliable. His fists are always there, perfectly fine and always getting the job done. And they solve every problem. Monsters? Punch them. Angry people? Punch them. Locked doors (need pulling)? Punch them open. When i actually played him that one time, he punched a magic well so much he broke the magic. By all means it shouldn't work, but it keeps working so why stop?
Of course he's not using just his bare fists. Thankfully his mother isn't as thought-impaired as he is amd was considerate enough to get him some protection - adamantine gloves, perfectly fitting his hands. They did cost her their whole fortune, plunging the family back into lower-class, but since Winston is never acknowledged by anyone as a noble even if he shows them his insignia and all the proof they could want, it wontbother him much.
As for his appearance, I wanted to make it just as dumb as he is. Whay would be the dumbest outfit to wear in a medieval-fantasy setting? Clearly, exactlly what my classmaye is wearing every day - plain jeans and a sweater, maybe with some snobbish glasses for extra flare. I even made his face look close to my friend's.
I made some silly drawings with Winston already, but I don't think I'm gonna share them here, they're way to rough to pass off as artwork. Until I make something else, imagine him wearing a torn, pink dress ontop of his usual outfit, with a broken wone bottle serving as his mask on a fancy costume party.Dec 25, 2023
