Archive RVN-T1, the relentless
Probably my favourite full piece so far. Mostly because I haven't made that many but still.Yet again, RVN is a character of mine that I'm still playing in a campaign as of writing this and yet again I decided to take what I was given and change it all around.
He is, as I hope I made it obcious, a robot detective. Robocop, if you will. He was created in a not-so-legal project to create a perfect automaton with one idea behind it - relentlessnes. Named after the revenants, pursuing their goal even beyond death, he was designed to never abandon his objective once he decides to pursue it. Though originally planned to become an assassin or a disruptor of some kind, once the project failed and he found himself alone at the world's mercy, he was lucky enough to get a proper chance at life. Making his way into the local Police Department he found himself a job just ideal for him and was able to learn a lot more about the world thanks to it. Though he doesn't really have much choice, the detective work is his biggest, "heartfelt" passion, his main objective in life that he's not willing to give up. Though he follows the law at all costs, he made a few rules for himself that let him turn the eye on some smaller crimes - helping the people and society comes first, written law second.
He never abandons a case and never lets any obstacle stop him. Until he manages to find another lead, only one case remains unsolved - finding the leader of a massive crime organisation that RVN singlehandedly brought to a close. Just as RVN relentlessly chases him, the crimeboss almost insultingly keeps leaving gints about his widespread influence while still remaining two steps ahead at all times. Until he is caught however, there will be no second of rest.
As for the artwork, it and his design were obviously inspired by all the noir-type decective arts and stories. This was also a huge experiment for me, drawing and shading with mostly lines. I remember it also being a massive pain getting everything shaded. Still, I think this was a breakthrough piece in the end, and me liking how it came out led to me changing up my artstyle recently.
Surprisingly, playing him is quite fun for me too. He's pretty boring when it comes to roleplay and is pathetic at combat, but because of how fantastic my friend is at DMing, even the endkess interviews and ivestigations end up being a lot of fun.Dec 25, 2023
