Siblings!!!

This is a bit of a spoiler of some illustrations I want to make but!! Ryu's siblings :D

After literal years of having these characters I FINALLY designed Ryu's dragon form, so I went ahead and gave him a bit of a redesign to his "human" form so he can match his dragon form better. One thing lead to another and well... I designed the two siblings that were missing 🤭 and then I just really wanted to draw them together so here are some doodles!! (I don't like the busts but ssssh look at how pretty they look seated)

Idk if i've ever told you the lore?? But Ryu is technically a god. Well, demigod. Minor deity. It's... Complicated, even for him. But long story short: he's the child of Mother Nature, godess of creation, the creator of the world and all living creatures. And of the Father of Dragons, aka the first ever dragon from who all dragons descend. Mom is the most powerful being of the world (only matched by the god of destruction himself), but dad is just... Old. And inmortal. So Ryu and his siblings aren't 100% gods. And Ryu has always felt like they don't quite fit anywhere— the other gods don't treat them as equals, as their power is lesser than theirs. But the mortals arent their equals either, and they treat them like gods. Ryu and his siblings all live in the mortal plane, with different levels of interaction with mortals. Ryu himself is a pretty much a loner, as he doesnt feel comfortable with the whole god treatment, but he does help out whenever anyone asks him for help. And that's also why at first he doesnt tell the main gang he's actually a god lmao. The gang does NOT know the lore and just assume all dragons can shapeshift, and Ryu decides to roll with it cause it's the first time someone that isn't his inmediate family treats him as a normal guy. The only one that knows the truth from the start is Ícaro (the ranger), bc he's the only one that pays enough attention to know the lore and recognises him

And the four siblings are the gods of the elements :D they're the children of Mother Nature, so they're nature deities. Each of them also represents a different cardinal point (irl continents) and kind of dragon. From eldest to youngest: Ávrá, godess of Air (North, northern european [sámi] dragon); Ryu, god of Fire (East, east asian [japanese] dragon); Macóatl, godess of Water (West, feathered snake [náhuatl]); and Ayíkùngban, god of Earth (South, rainbow snake [Fon people, Benin])

And fun fact Ryu and Macóatl are actually twins!! Idk if I ever mentioned that he's a twin?? But yeah, he is :D sorry to all twins for falling for the opposite twin trope, I just thought having the gods of fire and water be twins would be funny 😔👊
