[little warning: weight talk] so shifters are their own separate species, and the average shifter is bigger than both the average human and the average wolf. Which means that, in their human form, their average height and weight are bigger than the human average. Shifters also have an easier time gaining and maintaining weight, wether that be muscle definition or fat. Which means they have completely different health and beauty standars than humans. And well. Idk if you've noticed bc I havent shared the whole cast but Obsidian is the tiniest character there. And that's bc for shifter standars, they're actually underweight. Like, "do they even feed you" underweight (for the record, Azufre DOES feed them. He's not that horrible. In fact, he sometimes has to force them to eat :')) thing is, Obsidian is
disabled They have chronic pain + fatigue, and, you know. Pretty bad PTSD. So between the constant pain and the mental illness, they just... Don't really have an appetite and struggle a lot with eating. And they can't even walk long distances without pain and potentially fainting, so they don't exactly exercise either. Plus they suddenly became disabled as a child and spent their formative years on a wheelchair and then on physical therapy to regain the ability to walk, so they don't exactly have a lot of muscle definition on their legs. So hmmm yeah!! Obsidian has a healthy weight for a human but not for a shifter. Which is actually pretty common for disabled people, tbh. Specially people who struggle with mobility/paralysis. They don't really mind, tho. Obsidian has bigger things to worry about than their looks or their weight. They just hate lunch and dinner bc forcing themselves to eat to stay alive when they arent even hungry is annoying af, and fighting their brother over it gets exhausting (based on personal experience. Bless the antidepresants that gave me an appetite, suddenly I understand why people like eating :'))May 21, 2026
