Rainbow June 16– Teddy

Words cannot describe how much I love this mess of a person–

This is Teddy!! He's genderfluid (technically genderfaun, I feel like he's the kind of person that's really into microlabels and hoarding labels lmao) and switches between he/they pronouns, depending on the gender he's feeling in the moment.

Teddy's also from my superhero world– one day my family and I were watching Big Hero 6 and I looked at my sister and said "wouldn't it be cool to play a superhero themed TTRPG??" And bc my sister is really into making TTRPGs (most games I've played with her as the DM were made by her) she took my superhero world and turned it into a TTRPG with a bit of my help. If you're curious, it basicly has the same dice system as Call of Chtulu (and sanity points, my sister really likes those lol). And Teddy is the character I play there!

Teddy has bad luck powers, which means they can give bad luck to others or themself– and he has bad luck overall lol. And according to the lore of this world, strong negative emotions make people lose control of their powers, so things tend to explode around Teddy when he gets nervous (once I failed terribly a bravery roll and a whole street blowed up my poor boy had to be sedated). I'm also pretty sure I accidentally gave them ADHD–

Teddy LOVES cats and even has a pasive ability that make cats love him too. They're also obssesed with superheroes and tends to ask people a little invasive questions about their powers bc he wants to understand them the best he can. And he almost gave me an identity crisis when I realised they will soon be in high school and I had NO IDEA what they wanted to study until I realised he really likes to record stuff and edit videos and such so now they're gonna study something related to it.

This game also has a dynamic where every character has a responsability (something they MUST do, Teddy's is passing everything at school) and a secret, something that they'd do ANYTHING to stop others from finding out. Teddy's secret is that his dad is one of Madrid's most famous supervillains– as I like to explain it, pretty much everyone has had some problem because of him, or knows someone who had. His dad was arrested when Teddy was around ten, and he had to switch schools bc people were bullying him bc of it. Then my sister (the DM) decided that he actually escaped from prison and gave Teddy a nokia phone so everytime they need something they just call him and he comes and helps. He's a horrible person but a really good dad– my favourite villain trope xd

And my favourite thing about TTRPGs is how the party pretty much always ends up becoming found family– what can I say, sometimes a family is just a teen that never knows when to shut tf up, his scary mom (she doesn't have superpowers, but she does have the mighty chancla), his very mentally ill spanish teacher, the teacher's ex british spy husband, their son and a punk guy with a cat bakery and Disney Princess powers.
