OC's drawing themselves
I saw a "make your OC's draw themselves" challenge and OF COURSE I had to participate with my comic OC's. After all, they're all art students, it totally suits themI wanted to make finished drawings but all of them except one draw traditionally and I. Wasn't able to mimic that digitally akdjfkfl I succeded with Sam, kinda tried with Miguel and then gave up. So have the sketches because I think they're cute!!! And a little info about them:
→Archer doesn't usually draw, but they're doing art bachillerato (spanish high school) because they want to study graphic design. I feel like when they do draw tho, they have a very simple and round art style. I wanted to give it a bit of children book vibes? And they give me huge color pencils vibes (and I'm pretty sure they barely shadow their drawings lol)
→Cecil is the complete opposite akdhfkgl he wants to study illustration and he has a semirealistic style. His favourite art suply is indian ink and he usually draws flowers (that's actually a coping mechanism–), but when he does draw portraits they have pretty realistic proportions, but I feel like he'd get more free style with the coloring. Also he 100% does lineart with a brush because he's just that cool akdjdkflkt
Also CAN WE TALK ABOUT HOW PRETTY HE LOOKS IN THIS DRAWING I love him
→Miguel wants to study fashion design, but he's very vocal about giving fashion drawings "realistic" proportions instead of having all of them look like they got out of a Tim Burton movie lol. He probably has a lot of fun drawing different body types and he's also a master of alcohol markers. I also took some inspo from Winx Club and Totally Spies because he 100% watched and loves those shows
→Ngl Aisha's art style looks pretty much like mine akdhfkkg I TRIED anyway my girl wants to go to comic school, but the story happens in 2018 so that's not really posible for her :( she's really into superheroes and fantasy, and I mainly got inspo from Miss Marvel and Squirrel Girl comics because 1. Miss Marvel is 100% her favourite superhero and 2. I've noticed most of their comics have a more cartoony art style while still looking like american comic? I specially like the Marvel Rising artstyle, so I wanted to give it that vibe! Also she's the one that draws digitally
→Noor is a bit like Archer: she doesn't actually draw a lot, she's just in art bachillerato because she wants to study literally ANYTHING related to audiovisuals. But he probably saw that most of his classmates had a sketchbook and ended up wanting one too akdjfkgk For his artstyle I got inspiration from two of my friends because I LOVE how they draw, so he has a very simplified and exagerated art style. And she 100% draws with whatever she has at hand in the moment, so he ends up with mix media drawings most of the time
→And lastly Sam!!! This is actually his first introduction omgs. Sooo Sam is mainly based on a friend of mine that I love deeply (with some other inspo taken from more latino friends of mine) and I think of him as a tribute to this one friend <# so of course when I had to choose his artstyle I based it off my friend's lmao. Sam also wants to study illustration, he has a pretty anime style and his favourite art supply is just pencil! I think he barely adds color to his drawings, and when he does is just some touches like a square in the background and stuff like that
I might try to finish this traditionally to have each of them with the actual art supplies they use, but for now have this!!! I had a lot of fun drawing it and thinking about my OC's, 10/10 would recomendNov 6, 2022
