Final Battle
Can we talk about how Epic is inspired by videogames, so it has boss battles?? And how they are written in the script with levels and all, but you can tell you're in a boss battle without reading it because there's chanting of the boss' name in the background?? And how the first time we see this is in the battle against Polyphemus, then Poseidon, and it just keeps going during the entire musical?? SPECIALLY in God Games?? And how in the Ithaca saga, during the final battle against the suitors, THE CHANTING IS ODY'S NAME?? AND THEN TELEMACHUS'?? And how that implies that ODY, TELEMACHUS AND ATHENA are the final bosses, NOT the suitors, so it's the suitors who have to fight them and not the other way around?? AND HOW EPIC AND POWERFUL THAT MOMENT IS??OF COURSE I had to draw it. I wanted it to look like a comic book cover and I'm super proud of the final result
I did gather a lot of references and made MOODBOARDS (I never do moodboards), and I wanted to try a more lineart heavy style so I heavily references @/beckycloonan 's art. Her linework is AMAZING so check her out!!! This entire piece was an experiment lol, I'm very proud of the result but I have no idea how I got there xd but I'm finding a painting style that I'm more confortable with and that makes me happy!!!May 4, 2023

I have not been keeping up with Epic, that's such a cool detail about the songs!!!!! Gosh I could imagine how grand and (fittingly haha) epic that would come across in audio - you've conveyed the energy so well in this piece!!!
